- The International Monetary Fund forecasts global growth for 2013 at 3.5%
- 2013 macroeconomic themes appear to consist of a spill over of 2012 themes. These themes can be broken down into three broad areas of concern: uneven and destabilizing economic management in China, the lack of cohesiveness among EU members, and significant political dysfunction in the US. The 2013 Edelman Trust Barometer survey further distills these three themes to an underlying essence: a pervasive lack of trust in institutions, industries, and leaders. As a result of this climate, it is possible that certain quality stocks may be undervalued and that rare opportunities may exist.
